African Cup of Nations Competition

    1st Prize

    A trip for two to see the Black Stars play in their World Cup qualifying game against Lesotho in Accra, Ghana, on Friday 1st June 2012 and a chance to meet me, Sulley Muntari. Transport costs are included in the prize as well as two nights’ accommodation in a 4* hotel and two match tickets plus a signed Black Stars kit. Terms and Conditions apply so please see below.

    How To Enter

    To enter all fans need to do is submit a photo or video (uploaded to Youtube, Facebook or another video or photo sharing website) of them as fans celebrating my goal. Entries must be posted in a link to my wife Menaye’s Twitter feed (I’m not on Twitter!) which is @MenayeDonkor. Entries must also include the hash tag “#GhanaToWin”. The competition will run throughout the group stages of the tournament, closing as the final whistle is blown in the last group game against Guinea on 1st February 2012. I will personally be choosing my 3 top goal celebration acts which will be announced on Twitter on 3rd February 2012!


    Terms and Conditions

    By entering this promotion, Entrants agree to abide by these Conditions of Entry:

    1) The Promoter Menaye Donkor.

    2) The prize is a trip to Accra, Ghana, to watch the Black Stars play against Lesotho in their World Cup Qualifying game, for two adults including transport and accommodation for two nights.

    Transport will include economy class return flights if coming from outside Ghana and car transfers if coming from within Ghana.

    Accommodation will be in a 4* hotel in Accra. The selection of hotel is up to the Promoter to decide and is non-negotiable.

    The two tickets are to watch the Black Stars’ World Cup qualifying game against Lesotho in Accra, Ghana, on Friday 1st June 2012. The date is subject to change as per FIFA terms and Conditions of Sale. Venue of the match is subject to change, in this instance the prize will be transferable to the new location at the discretion of the Promoter.

    The winning Entrant must be available to travel on Thursday 31st May 2012 from an airport specified by the Promoter. Transport to and from the departure airport is to be arranged by the Entrant and all associated costs will be the responsibility of the Entrant.

    The Entrant is responsible for arriving at the airport in conjunction with the requirements of the airline operator and it is the Entrant’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with any guidelines and requirements stipulated by the airline such as check-in times and check-in requirements, required documents such as valid passports, baggage allowances etc.

    It is the individuals’ responsibility to have all required documentation including valid visas, passports and other documents for visiting Ghana at the time of the trip.

    Any additional costs associated with the airline will be the responsibility of the Entrant. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any delays, alterations to the schedule or cancelations made by the airline operator nor is the Promoter responsible for any associated costs to the Entrant as a result of any such changes made by the airline operator. It is the Entrant’s responsibility to check with the airline for any such changes.

    The Promoter is not responsible for any circumstances outside of its control, which mean that the Entrant is unable to embark on the scheduled flight from the specified airport. The Promoter is not responsible for arranging alternative flights in these circumstances nor is the Promoter responsible for any associated costs. All such responsibilities fall to the Entrant.

    3) The Promoter reserves the right to make changes to any confirmed arrangements.

    4) Entry is open to those over 18 years old. Directors, officers, management and employees (and the immediate families of directors, officers, management and employees) of the Promoter or of the agencies or companies associated with this competition are ineligible to enter. It is the Entrant’s responsibility to ensure they have valid documents to enable them to travel. It is not necessary to make any purchase from the Promoter.

    5) The competition commences on 23/01/2012 and closes as when the Promoter deems that Ghana’s final group stage game in the African Cup of Nations is over on 01/02/2012 (Competition Period). To be entered into the Prize Draw, Entrants must post tweets to @Menaye Donkor including the hash tag “#GhanaToWin”. Once announced as a winner on Twitter by @MenayeDonkor on 3rd February 2012, personal details and proof of personal details submitted may be required to support a valid entry.

    6) The Promoter shall select all winners at its sole discretion. The winner will be notified via Twitter on 3rd February 2012. The winner’s name will also be published on Facebook on the Menaye Donkor Facebook page. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The Promoter’s decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

    7) The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of Entries and Entrants and to disqualify any Entrant who submits an Entry that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry or who tampers with the Entry process.

    8) It is a condition of entry that the Entrant accepts that the prize is in no way transferable, there is no cash redemption available and there is no substitution with any other of the Promoter’s services or holidays.

    9) This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Twitter. You are providing your information to the Promoter and not to Twitter. The information you provide will be used for contacting the winner of the competition.

    10) Entrants consent to the Promoter using the Entrant’s name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this promotion and for any other purpose at the Promoter’s sole discretion. Entrants consent to the Promoter uploading their photo entry and name to the Menaye Donkor Facebook page and any other promotional material of the Promoter at any time for the purpose of promoting this promotion. No further permission is required. Your moral rights in accordance with the Copyright, Design and Patents Act 1988 are not affected.

    11) Any dispute between the parties will be decided under UK law and all interpretation of these terms and conditions will be subject to UK law.

    12) Any clause deemed invalid will not affect the agreement as a whole but may be discounted.

    13) If you or any member of your party has any medical problem or disability which may affect your stay, please provide us with full details before you travel so that we can advise as to the suitability of your arrangements.

    It is mandatory that the Entrant has appropriate personal travel insurance in place for all members of their party. It is the Entrant’s responsibility to ensure that any insurance he/she purchases is suitable and adequate for their needs. Travel without adequate personal travel insurance is at the Entrant’s own risk. The Entrant should read the policy details fully and take them on the holiday. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any event that may occur during the trip which leads to any accident, loss or damage to the Entrant’s processions or to the death of one or more of the Entrants.
